Position Overview:
We are looking for a creative and hands-on Outdoor Apparel Design and Production Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position, offering an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our product line and contribute to our brand’s growth by designing and developing innovative collections that align with our vision. A basic understanding of outerwear apparel and bag design, fabrics, trends, and manufacturing processes is required. We are looking for a creative and passionate individual to help progress our product line while ensuring we meet the highest standards of quality, design and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, production, and prototyping of outdoor apparel, including ski and snowboard vests, patrol vests, and a wide variety of custom bags.
Create and modify patterns for new designs using Adobe Illustrator and other software tools.
Operate industrial sewing machines to produce prototypes and final products.
Collaborate with the design and production team to refine products based on testing and customer feedback.
Manage material inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of fabrics and other production components.
Help with quality control to ensure all products meet company standards before they are shipped out.
Project Management: Manage the product development timeline, ensuring that all milestones are met on time and within budget.
Collect, analyze, and manage data related to design specifications, order quantities, and production timelines. You will utilize data analytics tools to identify past trends, optimize inventory levels, and improve production efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications:
Sewing experience is required (industrial sewing skills are a plus).
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Experience with basic website management.
Experience with pattern design and product development.
Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Passion for outdoor activities and a hands-on approach to product creation.
Understanding of current fashion trends and market demands.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
Detail-oriented with a keen eye for design and quality.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
